Webbie was arrested for battery and robbery early Thursday morning (September 13), TMZ has reported.
According to a police report filed in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, the “Independent” rapper allegedly kicked a woman down a flight of stairs and stole $340 from her purse inside of a Chase Suite Hotel, before being arrested on the scene at approximately 2:30 a.m.
A rep for Webbie told TMZ that the rapper met the woman at a party the previous night, but that he never assaulted her, nor stole money from her.
The rep adds that Webbie was released later today on $9,000 bond and plans to fight the accusations.—kelvi nkya
